About the Blue Raiders
» Middle Tennessee right-hander Aaron Brown looks to become the eighth Blue Raider pitcher to ever strikeout 100 batters in a single season. Brown currently sits at 96 punch outs on the year and is currently tied for No. 10 nationally.  The feat has been accomplished by Blue Raider greats such as Dewon Brazelton, Zac Curtis, Dave Richardson, Chris Mobley, Chris Crabtree (2), John Williams, and Steve Sonneberger.
» It had been 1,527 days since the Blue Raiders had hit a pinch-hit home run. The last to do it was Phil Kunsa back in 2017, until Jacob Williams and Justin Medlin did it in the final game of the series against Southern Miss. The two Raider pinch-hitters hit their long balls in consecutive at-bats with just one pitch in between them.
» Middle Tennessee is tied with Southern Miss. for the having played in the most one run games in Conference USA with 13. The Blue Raiders are 3-10 in one run games this season and have played into extra innings 11 times in 2021.

All-time vs. FIU
» The Panthers lead the all-time series with MT, 23-21, dating back to April 6, 2001.
» The last time the Blue Raiders and FIU played was May 10-12, 2019. The Panthers took two out of three games in Murfreesboro.

Scouting The Panthers
» FIU has three players who are batting .290 or better and who have played in 40 games or more this season.  Junior Justin Farmer and freshman Adrian Figueroa account for 70 of the teams 218 RBI this season. Figueroa ranks No. 22 in the country among freshman with 55 hits on the year.
» Despite the FIU pitching numbers this season, right-hander Steven Casey did throw the sixth no-hitter in program history on April 17 at Marshall. Casey was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week for his performance vs. the Thundering Herd.

Next Time Out
» After the final C-USA series vs. FIU, the Blue Raiders will wrap up the regular season with a mid-week game at Murray State.
