PISCATAWAY, N.J.(KCRG) -Iowa kept the pace and took advantage of No. 14 Rutgers’ struggles at the free throw line in their 77-75 win over the Scarlet Knights in close back-and-forth on Saturday.

Rutgers hit just 4 of their 12 free throws, while Iowa went 18 for 23 at the line.

Luka Garza hit 25 points, freshman and Cedar Rapids native Keegan Murray put up a season-high 14 points and 9 rebounds, and Jordan Bohannon finished the game with 13 points on the board.

Rutgers guard Jacob Young put up 17 points and center Myles Johnson scored a season-high 13 points and walked away with 10 rebounds.

But despite Rutgers’ solid defense throughout the game (with Iowa’s largest lead of the game only being by 5), it wasn’t enough to overcome the Big Ten’s top offense. Iowa now sits with a 9-2 record (3-1 in the Big Ten), while Rutgers is now 7-2 (with a 3-2 record in conference).

Next up for Iowa, they travel to Maryland on Thursday, January 7th, to take on the 6-4 Terrapins. The game starts at 6:00 P.M. on ESPN2.
