One of Grand Forks’ longest running bars is getting set to close.
According to a post on its social media page, El Roco Bar and Grill will close on Saturday, Jan. 30. Ownership of the bar will host a final party then to let patrons have a last drink and say goodbye to the iconic Grand Forks nightclub.
“We have a lot of good memories here, and we want one more as we say goodbye to the bar,” reads the social media announcement.
Brothers Rodell “Rocky,” Red and Jim Endres opened the bar in 1952, making it one of the oldest bars in Grand Forks. Rocky’s sons Pat, Paul and Tom Endres own the bar now. The Rock Bottleshop will remain open.
