With the calendar flipping to January and players (tentatively) scheduled to report in just over a month to spring training, the natural assumption would be that the offseason is likely to show some signs of life soon enough. A quick glance at MLB Trade Rumors Top 50 free agent rankings shows that most of the top free agents are still on the market.
