The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department's two outdoor pools, Bryan Park Pool and Mills Pool, open for the 2021 season this weekend.
Bryan Park Pool and Mills Pool did not open in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bryan Park Pool, located at 1020 S. Woodlawn Ave., is open May 29 through Sept. 6. Operating hours are 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily, with abbreviated hours beginning Aug. 4 when the Monroe County school system is back in session.
Mills Pool, located at 1100 W. 14th St., is open May 29 through Aug. 3. Operating hours are 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily.
Admission fees for both pools are $5 per person (youth and adults). Children ages 3 years and younger are admitted free.
Pool staff remain committed to the health and safety of fellow employees and pool patrons. Staff will continue to wear face coverings, and will clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces at the admission counter and concession stand, as well as in the bathhouse. Staff will also periodically wipe down chaise lounges on the pool deck. The use of face coverings and physical distancing by pool patrons is recommended.
Pool patrons who are frequent visitors may purchase a $50 season pass that allows unlimited admission to Bryan Park Pool and Mills Pool for one individual during the summer 2021 season. An Economy Punch Pass, good for 20 total admissions by the same or different people, is $85. Economy Punch Passes and Season Passes may be purchased at Bryan Park Pool with cash, check or credit card throughout the season.
New in 2021, the lap lane at Bryan Park Pool is open every day exclusively for use by people with disabilities from 11 a.m. until noon. The lap lane is open daily for use by lap swimmers only from noon until 7 p.m.
