This week construction on the 210 Freeway between San Bernardino and Redlands will close eastbound lanes nightly, as the project begins a new phase.
The closure at Fifth Street in Highland is slated from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights into the morning of Saturday, Aug. 1. Motorists must exit the freeway at Fifth. A detour will take drivers right on Fifth, left on Palm Avenue/Alabama Street, and left on San Bernardino Avenue where they can re-enter the freeway. The demolition work at the Santa Ana River bridge will also close Fifth’s eastbound on ramp.
This week will also see the first stage of Base Line interchange improvements begin in Highland. Traffic lanes will be reconfigured between Seine Avenue and Buckeye Street, as will freeway ramps there, though the number of lanes will remain the same at this time.
Base Line and its on- and off ramps will be closed overnight Friday into Saturday morning.
Victoria Avenue in San Bernardino is slated to be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly from Wednesday night into Saturday morning.
Base Line and Fifth will also see overnight lane closures this week, though at least one lane will be open at all times.
Construction is expected to end by the summer of 2023.
