            BOULDER — Registration is now open for the 15th Annual University of Colorado golf camps, coordinated by CU head coach Roy Edwards and his staff at the Buffaloes' home course, Colorado National Golf Club in Erie.
 
            Rescheduled from early July to August 3-5, the Buffalo and Elite Golf Camps have been retooled this summer and are limited this year to both boys and girls who have not yet started classes for the 9th grade (thus, 8th graders or younger).
 
            The Elite Golf Camp is specifically designed for the tournament golfer who has aspirations of playing college golf and to improve their competitive performance.  The curriculum of this camp is geared toward players who would like to compete in amateur tournaments in the summer.  The Buffalo Camp is geared more for beginners and recreational golfers who would like to improve their games. 
 
            Both the Buffalo and Elite camps are open to any and all registrants who meet the grade criteria so long as the camps are not full.
 
            "We're excited that we were able to work things out and still be able to hold these camps," Edwards said.  "The younger kids have really enjoyed them and we're looking forward to spending three days teaching them the game of golf."
 
            Both camps are offering only extended day camp options this year (no overnight lodging as in the past due to the pandemic).  Camp fees include instruction, educational sessions, competitive events, meals and golf fees.  The cost is $1,125 for the Elite Camp and $925 for the Buffalo Camp; for more information, please visit ColoradoGolfCamp.com.
 
            Past camps have had those 18 years old and younger able to participate, but with the sessions delayed into August, it is a dead period on the NCAA recruiting calendar and those that allowed high schoolers between 9th and 12th grades had to be canceled this year.
