Aldi in Marlboro set to open next week - My Central Jersey

MARLBORO – Aldi is set to open next week in the Morganville section of the township, near the Old Bridge border. 

The grocery store, located at 623 Texas Road in American Plaza, on Route 9 north, is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, according to a press release. 

“We are dedicated to providing the communities we serve the best groceries at the lowest-possible prices, and we look forward to introducing Morganville to their new neighborhood grocery store,” Bob Grammer, Center Valley division vice president for Aldi, said in a statement. “We are focused on continuing to expand and open new stores across the country because we want to do our part. We know now, more than ever, easy access to fresh food and household essentials is invaluable.”

The store here is part of Aldi's national expansion plan to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022, according to the release.

In recent years, Aldi has invested more than $5 billion nationwide to retrofit existing stores and open hundreds of new locations.

This year Aldi has integrated several new safety features in all its stores across the country.

According to the release, the health and safety of customers and employees are the company’s top priorities. Aldi has also remained focused on ensuring stores are stocked with the food and household essentials customers want and need, including healthy, convenient options and a robust selection of produce delivered fresh to all stores daily, the release said. 

Aldi recently announced the expansion of its curbside grocery pickup to nearly 600 stores nationwide. It has more than 2,000 stores across 36 states.

Chick-fil-A is scheduled to open at the Texas Road entrance to American Plaza in Old Bridge later this summer.
