Winter Sessions courses, all online, open for registration | Cornell Chronicle - Cornell Chronicle

Students can stay on track, get ahead or learn something new during Cornell’s Winter Session, which due to the pandemic will be held entirely online for the first time.

Students can earn up to four credits in three weeks (Jan. 4-23, 2021) by taking regular Cornell courses taught online by university faculty.

In addition to the regular roster of online courses offered each year by the School of Continuing Education (SCE), courses traditionally held on or off campus during the winter will be taught online.

Those special offerings include Practicing Health Equity: Theory and Fieldwork in Brooklyn, a two-credit course focusing on COVID-19’s impact on health care through diverse perspectives, taught by Sam Beck, senior lecturer in the College of Human Ecology.

SCE works with the provost’s office, college academic units and the Center for Teaching Innovation to help ensure online Winter Session courses contribute to the continuity of education for undergraduate and graduate students.

Offerings include courses in American studies, animal science, anthropology, biology, business, classics, cognitive science, communication, computer science, design, economics, engineering, gender studies, government, history, human development, human ecology, information science, nutritional science, physical education, psychology and statistics.

Courses will be added throughout the fall; students are encouraged to check the Winter Session online course roster frequently.

For registration deadlines, review the Winter Session academic calendar; to register, visit winter.cornell.edu.
