Six people died overnight from coronavirus, as Albany County saw 61 people hospitalized — another grim record in what has already been a deadly and dangerous month, County Executive Dan McCoy said in a briefing on Saturday. Read more.

In addition to the dozen-plus Albany County restaurants that closed temporarily in the first week of November because employees tested positive for COVID-19, more restaurants around the area are taking similar measures, in some cases out of an a abundance of caution rather than a positive test. 3:41 p.m., Friday: Bethlehem High classes to remain remote until Dec. 4
All classes at Bethlehem Central High School will be taught remotely through Dec. 4.
The school district announced it was adding the week of remote learning Friday after learning that person who tested positive for the coronavirus came into close contact with others. Several classes will be quarantined due to contact with the individual.
"With the large number of students and staff who will be in quarantine next week as a result of this case and others confirmed recently in the high school community, the high school will continue remote learning through Friday, Dec. 4," the district wrote in an email to parents and others. 3:35 p.m., Friday: Grim milestone: Capital Region reaches 400th coronavirus death
A Troy nursing home resident has died due to complications from COVID-19, Rensselaer County officials confirmed Friday. She's the 400th person in the region to die after contracting the virus which has now killed nearly 260,000 Americans.
The victim, an 87-year-old, was a resident of the Eddy Heritage House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, which has been battling a coronavirus outbreak since early November. Dozens of residents and staff have become infected as a result of the outbreak, county officials have said. Read more.
