Joliet Junior College will host a virtual open night for prospective students to learn more about their educational opportunities at the nation's oldest public community college.
The virtual open house is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 5, according to a news release.
During the virtual open house, prospective students will be able to learn more about JJC's student services to help with issues like financial aid and scholarships.
They'll also be able to meet virtually with professors in subjects they are interested in studying.
JJC also will have sessions and live demonstrations from some of its more popular programs.
The first half-hour of the event will feature JJC President Judy Mitchell and videos on the college's programs.
The remainder of the event will include Q&A meetings with the various academic and student service areas, during which participants will be able to enter and exit each meeting at their convenience. Participants can search for which of the sessions they want to join.
JJC serves about 30,000 students each year at its six campuses and education centers in and around Will County. It has more than 180 degree and certificate programs.
In order to participate in JJC's virtual open house, those wishing to attend will have to download Microsoft Teams.
Prospective students and families can RSVP for JJC's virtual open house online at jjc.edu/discover-jjc-rsvp-form.
Anyone with questions can call 815-280-2493 or email admissions@jjc.edu.
