The impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic in recent days included the closure of a Temecula Valley winery and a Big Bear steakhouse.
Closures related to COVID-19 are voluntary and usually come to light when a business announces it to its customers in social media.
Health departments in Riverside and San Bernardino counties include compliance with COVID-19 guidelines in routine restaurant inspections and also investigate restaurants when they get complaints about such matters as indoor dining, lack of social distancing, and people not wearing masks.
Riverside County
Callaway Vineyard & Winery: The winery is temporarily closed after a tasting room employee tested positive for COVID-19, although the restaurant Meritage remains open for outdoor dining. Callaway made the announcement Sunday on its website and Facebook page. callawaywinery.com
Carter Estate Winery and Resort: Partial food service resumed Friday at the Vineyard Grille, according to the winery’s website. The restaurant closed early in the month after an employee who also worked at the South Coast Winery’s Vineyard Rose tested positive for COVID-19. carterestatewinery.com
