The 2020 Vivint Houston Open at Memorial Park begins Thursday, with a strong field that includes World No. 1 Dustin Johnson.
Johnson, who is returning to competition for the first time since testing positive for COVID-19, will be joined by an impressive roster of golfers that includes Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth, among others.

To bolster the lineup, the Open was rescheduled to begin on Nov. 5, one week before the Masters.
The Houston Open was originally slated to begin on Nov. 12, but was moved back a week to accommodate the new start date of the Masters, which was pushed from its traditional April start date due to COVID-19.
The municipal course in Houston hasn’t hosted the tournament since 1963. The course has been revamped thanks to a $34 million renovation funded through The Astros Golf Foundation, headed by Houston Astros owner Jim Crane.
The Open, which will admit up to 2,000 fans per day, will be the first PGA Tour event played in the United States to allow general admission spectators since the onset of COVID-19.
The tournament begins as the number of coronavirus cases in Texas is increasing. The positive test rate statewide is at 10.6 percent, back up over 10 percent for the first time since August, according to a Houston Chronicle analysis.
In late May, Gov. Greg Abbot allowed some Texas counties to begin hosting in-person spectators for outdoor sporting events, with a limited capacity.
The four rounds of competitive play runs Thursday through Sunday. You can catch the tournament on TV via the Golf Channel from 12 to 3 p.m. CT.
