Hany Downs Elaraby In All-Egypt Affair

“You can tell it was pretty easy right? No, it was brutal from the word go. Rowan is an amazing player and I knew I had to be very focused from the beginning and I made sure to be aggressive from the first point” she explained.
“First two games were very crucial. I had to do some very hard work to win those games and I think, in the third, I laid back a little bit. She was firing in the third and the fourth as you could see, attacking from everywhere on the court. All credit to her to be honest.
“In the fourth, I just thought that I wanted to win, I had to dig deep. She played her best squash in the last two games but I am glad I went through.
“To be honest I love being here and playing here. There is no pressure because the last two tournaments, I got knocked out in the first round. What worse can happen, right? I just make sure I enjoy my time out there, and playing in front of my home crowd and at my home club is a bonus. I am glad I managed to get through and to play another day.”

[8] Salma Hany (EGY) bt Rowan Elaraby (EGY) 3-1: 13-11, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10 (52m)
Serme Defeats Naughton In Three

Camille Serme
World No.3 Camille Serme is into the last eight of the CIB PSA Black Ball Squash Open after getting the better of Canadian No.1 Hollie Naughton in straight games.
The Frenchwoman was in complete control throughout the match, and she will advance to play US No.1 Amanda Sobhy, another left-hander, in the last eight.
"I knew she was a big fighter… she has already played five games with some of the strongest girls in the world."

“Yesterday, Philippe [Signoret, Serme’s coach] told me to watch my match because it was pretty good, so I guess today I will believe what the commentators say.
“I had never played Hollie before, so I had to watch a few of her matches to know what to expect. I knew she was a big fighter. She already played five games with two of the strongest girls in the world, in Raneem [El Welily] and Laura Massaro. I knew it was going to be tough.
“I am happy to be back in the quarter-finals because last year I lost to Hania I the second round so it is a bonus for me. I am just happy to be back on court and playing the best of the girls here.
“Amanda is a fighter. She is a lefty as well which is good after playing Hollie today. I will talk to Philippe to know what the plan is for tomorrow and then recover from today’s match!”
Result
[3] Camille Serme (FRA) bt Hollie Naughton (CAN) 3-0: 11-5, 11-8, 11-6 (32m)

“It was good to play a tough one. I haven’t played her before, she is fast and the court is bouncy so she gets everything,” the World No.1 said.
“I had to make sure all my shots were good enough to win the points. It is good to play different opponents and I am sure we are going to have a lot of tough matches.
“Well, playing a tournament in Egypt, in your country, is always big and special. Not winning a Black Ball tournament, it is still missing for me. I am going to try my best and hopefully it will be mine this time.”
