ST. LOUIS, Mo. – IUPUI men's tennis dropped a close 3-4 match at Saint Louis on Sunday to close out the non-conference season for the Jags.
Saint Louis took the No. 2 doubles match 6-2 but IUPUI bounced back with a 6-3 win at No. 1 by Alex Jochim and Emil Jankowski. The No. 3 match was won by Saint Louis 7-5 as the Billikens took the doubles point.
Saint Louis started the singles matches with a win at No. 1 but IUPUI tied up the match with wins at No. 5 by Jankowski (6-2, 6-2) and the No. 4 match by Colton Morehart (6-2, 6-3). After losing the No. 3 singles match, IUPUI tied up the match 3-3 as Blessing Benibo earned a 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 win at No. 6. The No. 2 match came down the three sets but after winning the first set 6-3, Ethan Mardanus-Budiono lost the next two sets 6-2, 6-1.
UP NEXT
IUPUI will be on the road next weekend for matches at UIC on Saturday (April 17) and Sunday (April 18).
