TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Making their final preparations for the upcoming Horizon League Championships, IUPUI athletes accounted for a school record and four personal bests at the Sycamore Open, hosted by Indiana State on Saturday (Apr. 24). Marie Terry was exceptionally strong, lowering her own school record in the 400m hurdles as part of two personal bests on the day.

"The weather ended up being better than expected, which was a relief," Terry said. "That was a big PR for me in the 400 hurdles and I'm glad everything is coming together right before conference and I'm excited to see what I can do in two weeks at conference."

Terry finished second in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:02.86, taking more than a second off her prior best effort. That came after she had run a personal best in the 100m hurdles, clocking a time of 15.80 to shave three-hundredths of a second off her prior best. Kayla Wolnik was just behind her at 16.05 and Mikayla Miller crossed at 19.25.

Amani Miles put down a personal best 100m time of 12.75, finishing third overall from the slower of the two heats. Lana Pham was tops among IUPUI's three entries in the high jump, clearing 1.50m (4' 11'') on her second attempt on Saturday. Miller cleared 1.45m (4' 9'') and Wolnik cleared a personal best 1.35m (4' 5'').

The pole vault, which was moved indoors due to inclement conditions, saw freshman Sabrina Robison place third overall with a best jump of 3.70m (12' 1.5'') and Kelly Zehnder clear 3.10m (10' 2'').

Lauren Palmer paced the long jumpers at 4.77m (15' 7.75'') and Wolnik had a best jump of 4.71m (15' 5.5''). Miller posted a best jump of 4.28m (14' 0.5''). Zehnder was tops among IUPUI's two entries in the triple jump at 10.72m (35' 2'') and Palmer's best effort was 10.31m (33' 10'').

Miller also competed in the shot put and had a best throw of 8.76m (28' 9'') and javelin, where her best throw of the day was 27.16m (89' 1''). Wolnik also competed in the javelin and had a best throw of 20.29m (66' 7'').

The day began with the Jaguars' 4x100 relay team putting down a time of 49.17 as Terry, Miles, Palmer and Wolnik opened up a busy day. The group just missed the school record, falling a tenth of a second off the mark.
