SUPERIOR, WI (WSAU) — State DHS officials have announced that the next community COVID-19 vaccination clinic will open on Tuesday on the campus of UW-Superior in Douglas County.

Officials will begin issuing doses Tuesday at 11 AM in Wessman Arena.

“Now that everyone ages 16 and older can get vaccinated, there are more folks scheduling appointments,” said Gov. Evers through a press release. “These community clinics help support local vaccination efforts and ensure that every Wisconsinite that wants a vaccine, can get one.”

The Superior clinic will be able to vaccinate up to 200 people each day, with the ability to expand that number to 500 per day if needed. Regular hours for the clinic will be Tuesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Those who wish to get vaccinated are required to make an appointment ahead of time.

State DHS officials have helped facilitate the opening of four other community-based vaccine clinics in all corners of the state including La Crosse, Rock, Racine, and Marathon Counties. As of last weekend, those sites have administered nearly 20,000 doses of vaccine.

Other mass vaccination sites have also been conducted at Lambeau Field in Green Bay as part of the NFL’s league-wide effort to allow its stadiums to be used for vaccinations. A community-based vaccine site has also opened at UWEC.
