BIG RAPIDS — Work to replace water mains near Colburn and South Third avenues in Big Rapids will close additional roads beginning next week.
According to information from the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety, South Dekrafft, Gilbertson and Pemberton avenues, along with South Bronson from the north, will remain closed to Colburn Avenue.
In addition, South Third Avenue will have lane closures, which may slow or stop traffic temporarily.
South Bronson Avenue will remain open, from the south.
Colburn Avenue has been closed since Sept. 7. BPDPS said construction is slated to be completed by Friday, Oct. 15. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes.
After earning a bachelor's in journalism and a master's in counseling psychology, Julie Norwood moved from the Chicago area to Newaygo County in 2006. She freelanced for a couple of small town newspapers before being hired at MLive Media Group, where she spent almost eight years in a variety of roles before being hired with the Pioneer.
