Unless snow forces a change of plans, the state says the North Cascades Highway will likely close for the season Nov. 15.
The Washington State Department of Transportation closed the scenic Highway 20 pass on Nov. 12 last year.
The latest closure date on record for the pass connecting the Skagit and Methow valleys was Dec. 15 in both 2008 and 1979.
The earliest the pass has closed was Oct. 17 of 2003.
