The Tennessee Titans are all set at the top of their wide receiver depth chart with A.J Brown, Julio Jones and Josh Reynolds, but as head coach Mike Vrabel stated recently, things are wide open behind those three.

Of course, fourth-round pick Dez Fitzpatrick is pretty much guaranteed a spot on the roster, so the Titans really have four locked-in at the position ahead of training camp.

Assuming the Titans carry six wide receivers like they did on their initial 53-man roster from last season, that means there are two spots up for grabs.

Marcus Johnson, Cameron Batson, Racey McMath, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Mason Kinsey, Cody Hollister, Fred Brown, Kalija Lipscomb, and Chester Rogers are all vying for those two spots.

And whoever grabs them and could find themselves as high as fourth on the depth chart when it’s all said and done, as Fitzpatrick clearly is no lock to see snaps during his rookie campaign based on Vrabel’s statement.

Of that group we just listed, Johnson, Batson, Westbrook-Ikhine, McMath and Kinsey all stand out as the top potential options going into training camp.

Johnson made a great first impression during minicamp, routinely standing out by making plays during the two practice sessions. Batson’s advantage comes from the fact that he has more experience in the offense than the rest.

Guys like Westbrook-Ikhine and McMath have a good shot based on their past success on special teams. McMath excelled in that area during college, while Westbrook-Ikhine was a key special teamer for the Titans in 2020.

Kinsey, along with McMath, is one of the bigger longshots of the group, but the Berry College product has turned some heads early on this offseason, so he’s certainly worth mentioning.

No matter who grabs the final spot or two, they’re really fighting for scraps, as Jones, Brown, and Reynolds will command the vast majority of targets throughout the 2021 campaign.
