NEW ULM — The Marshall Legion baseball team split a pair of games on Saturday to close out the Upper Midwest Classic tournament in New Ulm, falling to Eastview 3-1 before defeating Forest Lake 8-5.
Against Eastview, Charlie Jacobson led Marshall with a hit while Brock Schultz recorded an RBI.
Mitchell Bouwman took the loss on the mound, going 5 2/3 innings while allowing three runs on six hits and struck out three.
Against Forest Lake, Schultz and AJ Toulouse led Marshall with two hits and an RBI each while Andrew Wallen had a hit and two RBI and Jacobson had a hit and an RBI.
Wallen earned the win in relief, going 3 1/3 innings while allowing one run on four hits and struck out three. Jake Eben earned the start, going 2 1/3 innings while allowing four runs on five hits and struck out two.
Marshall (6-4) will face Minneota at home on Thursday at 6 p.m.
