Today marks the most significant reopening yet of many Arizona businesses after they were forced to close their doors starting in March.

7 a.m.: Salons, barbershops, retailers can reopen for business — with tweaks
Arizona salons and barbershops have the green light to resume hair, nail, waxing and other services, as Gov. Doug Ducey presses forward with his plan to phase out restrictions designed to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The Republican leader also has given nonessential retailers — such as jewelry stores and clothing shops — the go-ahead to start doing in-person sales today. He'd previously limited them to low-contact transactions, such as curbside pickup.
Businesses must limit occupancy, implement social distancing measures and expand sanitation protocols to reopen. The state also issued particularly extensive guidelines for cosmetologists, given the necessary proximity between them and their clients.
Ducey earlier this week assured the public his reopening decisions were safe, saying more robust data gathered after a weekend "testing blitz" showed downward trajectories in many of the COVID-19 indicators the White House has suggested states meet to begin reopening.
But public health experts have said the data Ducey is relying on is too murky to show sustained, across-the-board declines in the prevalence of COVID-19 in Arizona.
Because it takes time for people infected with COVID-19 to show symptoms and get tested, and for the state to receive and publicly report results, it will be weeks before the public can gauge the impact of the accelerated reopening.
