When MGM Resorts reopened Bellagio and two other casino hotels last week after over two months of coronavirus shutdown, acting CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the gaming giant planned to gradually reopen its other Strip hotels throughout the summer based on travel demand.
Summer hasn't officially begun yet, but MGM said Tuesday four more hotels in its lineup will open in the next few weeks. This is in addition to The Excalibur Hotel & Casino, which reopens Thursday.
The next MGM hotels set to open: Luxor on June 25 and Aria, Mandalay Bay and Four Seasons Las Vegas on July 1. Luxor is a moderately priced hotel, while Aria and Mandalay Bay are pricier. Four Seasons is a luxury non-casino hotel inside Mandalay Bay.
The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay Place, a mall between Luxor and Mandalay Bay, will also reopen June 25.
"Our guests are having a great time and are thrilled to be back in the city they love,'' Hornbuckle said in a statement. 'We are eager to get more of our employees back to work and enhance the Las Vegas experience with additional resorts.''
MGM has not released reopening dates for these hotels: Park MGM, NoMad, Mirage, Vdara and Delano. The NoMad is tucked inside the Park MGM, while Delano is part of the Mandalay Bay complex.
Caesars Entertainment, which together with MGM dominates the Las Vegas Strip, opened Caesars Palace, Flamingo Las Vegas and Harrah's Las Vegas last week, but as with all hotels, it is opening restaurants and other hotel amenities in phases.
Caesars has not announced additional hotel openings, but on Tuesday said it plans to reopen The Linq Hotel's casino and some restaurants, including the always packed Hash House a Go Go on Friday, though not the hotel rooms. .
Returning to Las Vegas: 11 things travelers need to know
At Caesars Palace, the company said it will reopen the sprawling racebook and sports bar, fitness center and swim-up gambling at the Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis on Friday.
At Harrah's, the popular piano bar will reopen Friday.
