As we reported last week, the Peninsula Community Library is now open! Read more about all the various protocols in place here. Note that masks are required by order of the State of Michigan.
I stopped by on the day they opened to the public – Monday, June 22, 2020 – and below are a few photos of what it looks like inside the library right now with Covid-19 protocols. If you have any questions, call the library at (231) 223-7700.

But even if some rooms are off limits and the furniture is covered, it is still OUR library, and I was so excited to step inside after so many months of being closed due to the pandemic.
A big thank-you to Library Director Vicki Shurly and her staff for all the steps taken to ensure our safety as the library opens back up. I was thinking about how just a short time ago (last September – though it seems so long ago now!), we celebrated the opening of our brand new library on the corner of Center Road and Island View Road, and how so much has happened since that time. These are challenging times, and you are all so very much appreciated!
