Massachusetts will enter into “Phase 2” of its reopening plan on Monday, Gov. Charlie Baker announced on Saturday.

Phase 2 will happen in two steps, bringing back a lot of business that will breathe life into the local economy and give residents a sliver of normalcy.

Here is what can open starting in Phase 2, step one of the state’s reopening plan on June 8:

  • Retail stores with occupancy limits
  • Child care facilities and day camps
  • Restaurants with outdoor dining only
  • Hotels and other lodging
  • Youth sports and outdoor recreation
  • Funeral homes with occupancy limits
  • Routine medical appointments and procedures
  • HOV lane

Starting June 10, hospitals can allow one visitor per patient and outdoor visitors at group homes and adult residential programs will begin. Outdoor visitation at soldiers’ homes can start on June 15.

The timing of the second step of Phase 2 will depend on public health data. Baker said in a Saturday press conference the date will be revealed “in the next several days.” The second step of Phase 2 will include:

  • Restaurants with indoor dining
  • Nail salons and tanning salons
  • Massage therapy
  • Tattoo shops
  • Personal training

Before reopening, businesses must meet a variety of safety standards, complete a self-certification and have a COVID-19 control plan.

When asked on Saturday about gathering size, Baker didn’t give a concrete number on groups. “Outdoor is always going to be better than indoors,” he said.
