Heavy rainfall has closed roads throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Here's a running list of road closures:

Escambia County road and bridge closures

The Theo Baars Bridge and the Lillian Bridge closed at about 10:30 a.m., according to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

The Three Mile Bridge is being closed by the Pensacola Police Department just before 9 a.m. Tuesday because there are sustained winds of 40 mph. A barge has also broken loose and is caught underneath.

17th Avenue at the trestle in Pensacola closed just before 8 a.m. due to flooding, according to the Pensacola Police Department.

Ninth Avenue at Bayfront in Pensacola has been closed. 

Sonia at K Street is closed due to flooding.

The west gate at Naval Air Station Pensacola will close at 10 a.m. Tuesday, base officials announced on Twitter. All personnel requiring access to the installation will need to use the main gate on Navy Boulevard.

Base officials cautioned that drivers need to be on the lookout for rising water and flooding conditions on roads around NAS Pensacola.

The following roads in Pensacola are closed, according to the city:

  • 17th Avenue at the CSX railroad trestle/Graffiti Bridge
  • DeVilliers Street at Main Street
  • Interstate 110 at the Interstate 10 ramp 
  • 9th Avenue at Romana Street
  • 6th Avenue at Highland Drive
  • Sonia Street at K Street
  • Coyle Street at Main Street
  • Main Street at G Street
  • Main Street from Baylen to Clubbs Street
  • Government Street from Reus Street to Clubbs Street
  • J Street south of Cedar Street

Santa Rosa County road closures

South Garcon Point Road at Katie Street is Closed: South Garcon Point Road at the intersection with Katie Street closed Monday afternoon due to flooding from Tropical Storm Sally. 

Choctaw Field Road : Florida Fish and Wildlife has closed Choctaw Field Road through Sept. 17 due to Tropical Storm Sally. The road will reopen on Sept. 18 barring no other update.

Garcon Point Bridge is not closed yet, but officials are preparing to suspend the $5 toll so those who need to evacuate can do so. State Sen. Doug Broxson said at 10 a.m. that the tolls should be suspended within the hour. 

Potential road and bridge closures

Santa County officials warn drivers to expect that roads and bridges that typically close in the county to be closed at some point Hurricane Sally. Public works crews are monitoring for flooding and will barricade flooded roads and bridges as needed.

Bridges that typically flood, according to Santa Rosa County officials, include

  • Deaton Bridge/Deaton Bridge Road
  • Wagner Bridge/East Fork Coldwater Creek/Spring Hill Road
  • Red Rock Bridge/Juniper Creek/Red Rock Road
  • Juniper Creek Bridge/Indian Ford Road
  • West Fork Big Coldwater Creek Bridge/Walling Road
  • Turkey Creek Bridge/Amos Cabaniss Road
