If you're not firing up the grill for a Labor Day barbecue, most national restaurant chains are open in some capacity Monday.
Unlike Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving, most major restaurant chains are typically open on the annual federal holiday dedicated to the achievements of American workers.
However, amid the coronavirus pandemic, which eateries are open to dine in Monday – and their hours – can vary depending on where you live. Several businesses will have special holiday hours and many are still working with reduced COVID-19 hours.
According to data analysis from Womply, a small business software provider, 23% of restaurants are still closed.

Brad Plothow, vice president of corporate marketing and communications for Womply, said the holiday held the first Monday in September is typically slow for local restaurants.
“While it may be harder than normal to celebrate Labor Day this year by eating out, you can still support struggling restaurants in a responsible manner by looking for eateries that offer takeout, delivery, or curbside pickup,” Plothow said.

Ahead of Labor Day, pumpkin spice season has begun. Dunkin', Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Jamba are among the places where the fall flavor is available.
