The 2021 U.S. Open is rapidly approaching as the year's final major tennis tournament gets underway on Aug. 30. Tennis stars from around the globe are set to gather in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. On the men's side of the bracket there is plenty of drama, even with a few high-profile absences such as Rafael Nadal (foot) and Roger Federer (knee). The centerpiece, however, is Novak Djokovic, who enters as a dominant favorite in the betting market.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Djokovic as the clear-cut favorite at -150 in the 2021 U.S. Open odds. No other player is listed with better than the +400 odds for Daniil Medvedev. Alexander Zverev is currently +550 and Stefanos Tsitsipas is +900. Before making any 2021 U.S. Open picks or tennis predictions, see what renowned tennis handicapper Sean Calvert has to say.

Calvert is the handicapper who called Stan Wawrinka winning the 2014 Australian Open at 60-1, the last Australian title won by someone other than Djokovic or Federer.

In 2019, Calvert took down a huge score on Dominic Thiem winning Indian Wells at 80-1. And earlier in 2021, he nailed both of his bets for the Wimbledon men's singles final: Djokovic to win three sets to one (+275) and Djokovic to win and both players to win a set (+130).

Now, Calvert has broken down the latest U.S. Open 2021 odds and released his coveted best bets to win it all. Head to SportsLine to see them.

Top 2021 U.S. Open predictions

One surprise Calvert is calling for at the U.S. Open 2021: He doesn't like the value of Djokovic. The field isn't nearly as deep as it could have been if all of the top players in the world were healthy.

While that is unfortunate on some level for observers, it does seemingly clear the path for Djokovic. Djokovic is the winner of the last three grand slam tournaments and, as one would expect, he enters as the betting favorite.

However, the odds are lofty for him to pick up a 21st major win. Djokovic is listed at -150 and, against a full field of top-flight pros, that number is jarring. Calvert believes the value isn't fantastic there, even if Djokovic is the most likely single player to win the tournament.

His fitness is at least somewhat in question, and it is a tough ask to lay juice on a pre-tournament number, even for one of the best of all-time.

How to make 2021 U.S. Open picks

Instead, Calvert has locked in a stunning pick to win on a player going off higher than +6000. Find out who it is, and see all of Calvert's picks and analysis, over at SportsLine.
