The Town of Chapel Hill will close some of its recreation and aquatic facilities for routine maintenance starting next week.

The Hargraves Recreation Center and Northside Gym will close August 16-20 for annual maintenance and reopen August 23. This does not include the A.D. Clark Outdoor Pool.

Through August 16, the A.D. Clark Outdoor Pool is offering free drop-in lap swimming from 7-9:30 a.m. Drop-in swims will be offered on a first-come, first served basis.

The Chapel Hill Community Center Pool is also scheduled to close for annual maintenance August 23 for up to four weeks. The town said it is hoping to reopen the pool by September 20.

During the Community Center Pool’s closure, pass holders may use the pool at the Homestead Aquatic Center with a mix of reserved and drop-in facility use times available.

The Chapel Hill Community Center and gymnasium will also close for annual maintenance September 13-19 and will reopen September 20.
