NIU finished the 54-hole event with its best team round of the tournament, a seven-over par 295, led by sophomore Jasmine Ly (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/Holy Names HS) who fired her second straight round of two-under par 70. Junior Ahra Ko (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett HS) shot a one-over par 73 Sunday, while Caroline Klemp (Lansing, Kan./St. James Academy) and Emily Romancew (Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada/Ecole Secondaire Des Sources) carded 76s.
Ly once again led the way for the Huskies. After an opening round 73, she recorded back-to-back 70s for a 54-hole total of three-under par 213, good for a tie for fifth. Ly earned her fourth Top 10 finish in four tournaments this fall.
Ko posted three rounds in the 70s to tie for 27th, second among Huskie golfers. She sandwiched rounds of 74 and 73 around a second round 78.
In the team race, the Huskies finished three strokes ahead of sixth-place Iowa and five behind fourth-place Florida International with rounds of 304-306-295.
NIU opens its spring 2022 schedule Feb. 7-8 at the Mid-American Match Play event in Florida.
