Outdoor dining will look a lot different this year, as restaurants reopen under the new COVID-19 Phase 2 guidelines.
You'll still get to enjoy the perks of al fresco dining but the tables will be spaced six feet apart — some may have plastic partitions between them — and some may be located in a parking area. There may be hand sanitizer on your table, menus may be in a QR code you scan on your phone, and the wait staff — as well as you — will be required to wear masks (though you can take yours off at the table while eating).

SUBSCRIBER ONLY: Why CSAs are exploding in popularity
There also may be limits on how long you can sit, generally from 90 minutes to two hours.
Many Westchester restaurateurs are still figuring out how they're making it all work but all are committed to ensuring both the safety of their employees and guests. Interesting to note: States guidelines say you can have up to 10 people at a table as long as they are six feet from another table so good news for large families or those who've been quarantining together.
Here's a sampling of what's open and what to expect when outdoor dining opens Tuesday. The majority are not taking reservations (though some are), but say that could shift, as could their hours of operation. As Brian Mahon of Lilly’s and Hudson Grille in White Plains said, “We’re going to start by opening Lilly’s first, and see what kind of traction we get before opening up Hudson Grille."
Keep in mind, this is a partial list so if there's a place you love (and have missed), check their social media for updates. And stay posted for Phase 3 when restaurants are allowed to open for indoor dining.
