SPANAWAY, Wash.- The Pacific University women's golf team opened the 2021 season this weekend at the PLU Invite. The women battled through tough conditions throughout the two-day event to finish in 9th place.
The Boxers were led by Avery Arnold (Sophomore/Chewelah, WA) who finished with a two-day total of 183 and a tie for 34th. Arnold's second round of 85 was highlighted by two birdies in a four-hole stretch.
Sydnie Matsuda (Freshman/Kahului, HI) saw an eight-stroke improvement between the first round and the second round. Noelani Root (Sophomore/Kaneohe, HI) got her sophomore campaign off and running with a 49th place finish.
Ensley McClellan-Tedrow (Freshman/Ferndale, WA) was highlighted by a hole-out birdie on day one from the greenside bunker. The Ferndale native finished in 51st in her first collegiate event. Brynn Barber (Freshman/Boise, ID) rounded out the lineup in tie for 52nd.
