GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado University volleyball program starts their off their 2021 RMAC schedule on Friday as they travel to South Dakota Mines to play the Hardrockers at 6 p.m., then to Colorado Christian on Saturday to play the Cougars at 5 p.m.
 
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS

Western Colorado heads into their first RMAC match of the season after playing eight matches in two preseason tournaments, finishing with a record of 5-3. The Mountaineers are currently on a three match-winning streak heading into Friday's match.
 
Caroline Parker leads the team in kills heading into the weekend as she has recorded 84 kills this season, averaging over ten kills per match and 2.71 kills per set. Most of those kills come from an Alex Galicia assist as she leads the team with 197 assists, averaging 6.35 assists per set. Galicia also leads the team at the service line with 11 aces already this season.
 
At the net, Kat Finnerty has recorded 32 blocks averaging just over one block per set (1.03 blocks per set), as teammate Elizabeth Rupprecht leads the Mountaineers in digs having recorded 152 digs over the eight matches played.
 
HARDROCKERS HEADING INTO THE WEEK | SEASON STATS
Nine matches into the season and South Dakota Mines sits 6-3 overall and 0-1 in RMAC play. They are currently on a two match-losing streak, with one of those losses coming from Black hills State (L, 0-3) for their first RMAC match of the season.  
 
COUGARS HEADING INTO THE WEEK | SEASON STATS
Colorado Christian has had a tough start to the season as they currently sit 3-6 overall and 0-1 in RMAC play. Their first conference loss of the season came from Adams State on Tuesday as they lost in a five set match at home (L, 2-3).
 
ON THE COURT NEXT
The Mountaineers will host their first home match of the season on Tuesday, Sep. 21 against Fort Lewis College at 6 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
