VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton wrestling program will host the 12th annual Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open Sunday. 21 of BU's members will face-off against wrestlers on some of the east coast's top teams.

The tournament is always held on the second Sunday of November (right around Veteran's Day) to honor the former Binghamton wrestler who was killed in the line of duty. Kaloust, a Navy SEAL, competed for the Bearcats from 2007-2010, and entered the military following graduation. He was known as a tenacious worker with a relentless drive to get better. The Massapequa, N.Y. native graduated in 2010 with a degree in political science.
"Jonathan was a valued member of the Binghamton Wrestling team and family," head coach Kyle Borshoff said. "It is an honor to remember him annually around Veterans Day at the Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open."
Members of Cornell, Penn State, Brown, Buffalo, American, Navy, Clarion, Bucknell, Princeton, Franklin & Marshall, Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, Rider, Edinboro, Sacred Heart and Columbia are expected to compete.
Two-time All-American No. 10 Lou DePrez is expected to make his season debut Sunday. Also highlighting Binghamton's competitors are nationally-ranked Jacob Nolan (No. 28) and Anthony Sobotker (No. 28).
Wrestling will begin at 9 a.m., and is expected to continue until late afternoon.
