Opening Tip
The Drexel University women's basketball team opens its run at The Dana on Mission Bay Holiday Tournament, facing the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday, November 26 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

About Drexel
Drexel enters play 3-1 overall after a 65-60 win against UMES on Saturday. In the game, Tessa Brugler and Mariah Leonard both had double-doubles in the game. Brugler had 16 points and 11 rebounds while Leonard had 10 points and a career-high 14 boards.

Saturday was the third consecutive game where the Dragons posted four players who each scored in double figures. Drexel accomplished the feat just four times all last season.

Friday's game against Nebraska will be the first ever game Drexel women's basketball has played in the state of California. The Dragons have only faced two teams based in the Golden State, but either at home or a neutral site. DU hosted Pacific on November 16, 2019 in the Preseason WNIT and had a neutral site matchup with Santa Clara on November 21, 1999 as part of the Columbia Classic in New York City.

Scouting Nebraska
Nebraska enters play 5-0 overall and is coming off a 113-58 win against North Carolina Central on Saturday. The Huskers finished last season 13-13 overall, advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten championship, as well as the second round of the WNIT. Friday is Nebraska's first game away from home this season.

Leading the way for the Cornhuskers is Jaz Shelley who is second on the squad, averaging 11.2 points per game while leading the team in rebounding at 8.6 an outing and assists at 5.4 a contest. She posted a triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against NC Central. Also scoring in double figures are Isabelle Bourne and Ashley Scoggin at 14.2 and 11.0 points per game respectively

Alumna Amy Williams is in her sixth season with the Cornhuskers and has a record of 77-75 with Nebraska. Overall in 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach, she has a mark of 269-184 with previous stops at Rogers State and South Dakota. She has guided her teams to the NCAA tournament twice, in 2014 with South Dakota and 2018 with Nebraska.

All-Time Series
Friday is the first ever meeting between Drexel and Nebraska.

Up Next
Depending on the outcome of Friday's games, Drexel battles either San Diego or Fresno State on Saturday.
