The Lions pulled out the win on Saturday night thanks in part to the 28-point output by Eli Scott. Scott continues to rank among the country's most accomplished active players ranking 32nd in Division I in total points, 19th in rebounds, 60th in assists, 22nd in field goals make, and 18th in free throws made.
Scott will face off against Grand Canyon's Holland Woods on Monday night. The two are on the 15-player active list of players 1,500 career points and 350 career assists.
Woods is in his first year at GCU after transferring in from Arizona State, however he has faced the Lions in three games while playing for Portland State. In those three matchups, Scott averaged over 15 points per game including a game-high 27 points in 2019, while Woods averaged just over 13 points per game including 20 in 2017.
LMU has never hosted Grand Canyon, but the two did face off in a neutral site game in 2013 played in San Diego. The Lions won both games at the San Diego Classic that season, including knocking off the Antelopes, 78-75.
The Antelopes enter the game as a top-4 team in the country in both offensive rebounds per game and rebounding margin.
The Lions enter the game leading the West Coast Conference in both steals per game and turnovers forced.
As part of the game, students in attendance will be eligible to participate in a Cyber Monday themed raffle with prizes including an Amazon Alexa, Apple AirPods, Beats Speaker, a flatscreen television, and gift cards.
