West Virginia and TCU meet for the 20th time since 2009. The Horned Frogs lead the all-time series, 6-13. In the last meeting, West Virginia beat TCU in four sets on Oct. 16, 2020.
Last week, West Virginia dropped a two match series to Texas Tech in Morgantown, West Virginia, at the WVU Coliseum, from Nov. 18-19. On Thursday evening, the Mountaineers came up short to the Red Raiders in four sets (25- 22,18-25, 25-20 and 26-24). WVU finished the match, hitting .158 with a match-high 53 kills. WVU led the match with seven team blocks and 47 assists.
West Virginia fell to Texas Tech in five sets on Saturday evening, in set scores of 22-25, 25- 23,25- 20,23-25 and 15-11. The squad finished the match hitting .134, with a match-high 63 kills. WVU recorded 10 team blocks and 59 assists.
Three Mountaineers recorded double-doubles on Friday, including Zerwas, who recorded 41 assists and 17 digs, while Hasting tallied 26 digs and 11 assists. Fifth-year senior outside hitter Adrian Ell also recorded a double-double, with 17 kills and 10 digs.
TCU fell in a pair of matches over Kansas, from Nov. 19-20. On Friday, the Horned Frogs fell in five sets. TCU fell in four sets in Saturday's match, . On Saturday, senior Dani Dennison led the team with 20 digs. She improves her career total to 1,579 – the most in program history.
